Birthday Post

I "just" turned 22 on January. I know, this blog post is far too late. But I still want to share what I did. So for my 22nd birthday, I just wanted to have a quiet night in with the boyfriend. I wanted to drink wine, eat cake, and cuddle. I got what I wanted, and more! Here are some photos of that night:

I know I didn't do this at night, but look at it! It's a yummy burrito!!
Got breakfast at Nick's Cafe. I ordered a chorizo potato burrito with some
spicy salsa. And the boyfriend got the usual breakfast, eggs, hash browns, and toast.
My former co-worker Daisy, gave me this cake for my birthday. FYI: I use to work at
Chinatown's famous Phoenix bakery. I still love their pastries.
At Phoenix, we got the Tiramisu infused with Kahlua. And the Napoleon with Phoenix's best light whip cream.
Can't forget the Vino, we were pretty lame and bought a Stella Rosa at the
San Antonio Winery. I need to find a delicious wine for myself besides Stella.
The next day, my boyfriend took me out to watch Red Tail which I was excited to see. But was totally turned off by the bold red san serif type they used to introduce the movie, the boring story line, mediocre acting, and Ne-yo's weird tobacco chewing accent. But overall, it was pretty entertaining. After, he took me to Kabuki we feast like royalty. After an amazing meal, we went right over to a friends house to drink. I have lovely boyfriend.....

.... and Amazing friends. I got treated out to a bar, caught up with one of my girls and drank tea at Chado, recieved Forever21 gift cards, received an wide format inkjet printer that I've been needing for school, and got a book I've been wanting. Thanks everyone for making my birthday special.

Photobomb

I know I haven't blogged for such a long time. I've just been so swamped with school. I'm constantly challenging myself and soaking things up. There is no such thing as Senioritis in college. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty tiring balancing out school, family, friends, and the boyfriend. But when it comes to working hard, I play just as hard. Naw, just kidding. Here's a recap of the things I've done since I last blogged.

Got my fortune told by Zoltar at the Santa Monica Pier. He said
that I have a keen mind and an understanding nature. How'd you
know Zoltar!? Also he foretold that I will be happy in the future
with a beautiful home. SCORE.
I'm not afraid of this no more :]
Went to a freak show at Venice beach. There was a bunch of mutated taxidermy animals,
an actual show where the performers gets electrocuted, swallow swords, and stapled dirty
money onto their bodies.
I wonder if one of the head eats, will the other one
stay hungry?
The boyfriend took me shooting for the first time at the LA Gun Club.
Very intimidating, but fun.
Don't mess!! I posted this up on my wall, it's kind of creepy at night
though. I feel like the paper is going to get revenge on me.
Got suckered into trying one of these babies because of tumblr.
$1.75 for a lipgloss sized cookie with ganache in the center. BOO!
Which reminds me, follow my new tumblr: http://girlfromdpjs.tumblr.com
I also went to the clubs. I had so much dance to dance out.
You just don't understand!
Girl with the cutest nipples and booty, Shawntay. Man with the best dance
moves, Buddha.
Can you see me feeding my friend Ashley a cherry? So classy.

Mammoth 2012

A couple of friends and I celebrated our Winter break at Mammoth Lake, CA. We stayed at a condo/cabin where we drank and played games such as Taboo, Beer pong, Charades, Scrabble, and Slap Jack. During the day, we went sight seeing and played with snow. After Mammoth, we took a different route and drove to Yosemite. I'm so blessed to be able to experience California with some good friends.

An approximate of 729 miles or 14 hours of driving.
A great way to start off the New Year.
Yosemite- Lower Falls
Clearly, our snow person was a man.

The Most Crowded- I mean Happiest Place on Earth!

That is right! My man gave me my Christmas present early this year, we celebrated the end of finals at the Happiest Place on Earth! That place is pretty magical. We watched the fireworks show, Oooh'd and Ahhh'd at the fake snow, and one of the workers called me Princess :]

Jedi's in Training fight the dark side at the Jedi Academy.
Waiting in line.
Finches love decorative kale and french fries.
Ducks love Chimichangas
LOL at Ken's face. My favorite character from Toy Story 3.
Losers everywhere! Loser in the blue ruining the shot, loser taking this horrible photo, and the biggest losers in the middle taking cliche Disneyland couples photo.
Merry Christmas Everybody!!

One Woman's Trash, is Another Woman's Treasure.

Thanksgiving break was a much needed vacation! School was pretty hectic for me and cooking Thanksgiving dinner was not easy at all. While everyone else was out shopping for Black Friday, I whined down and went Thrift shopping with my baby girl Mellie. We went to 2 different shops and this is what I found. I got 5 items, and totaled to be around $20, YEAHHH BUDDY!

While I was taking these pictures, I was learning how to use my camera and using the lights to my advantage. Not bad for a beginner taking photos at 10pm huh? Plus posing felt pretty awkward while my best friend laughed at me.

Hah, the boyfriend called, so I used the phone as a prop!
Mellie bought me that silk scarf when she was studying abroad in the UK. I asked her to bring back an authentic French beret when she took a trip to France.... She didn't, but she found this at the thrift store. So now she can say she got me that beret. Check out this lining on this baby!

Which is your favorite outfit?

Finals

Sorry ladies and gents for not blogging for such a long time. School has had me in a choke hold since the semester started. I'm learning so much about Graphic design and have so much more to learn; Pantone colors, grids, and kerning, Helvetica, printing. Like always, I will continue my quality posts once winter break begins. I'm entering finals, and I've been feeling the stress like 3 weeks in advance. But before I go, I want to wish everyone the best of luck during finals and that all those all nighters and forgetting to eat will be well worth it!!

Here are some projects I've been working for finals:
Illustration for Tea. Would you buy it?
Illustration for bizarre article of how the government are training dolphins to attack terrorist and locate bombs.
(Ya didn't hear it from me)
Logo for a campaign to eat hole in the wall restaurants because I'm cheap. I'm really stressing about this project and the campaign going along with it. This is my first time making a logo, and I already hate it!
Mock Magazine design. I tried REALLY HARD not to use Helvetica.
Next up in blog posts: (Get Excited!)

Love you all! See you real soon!

Summer Recap 2

I have to admit, this Summer was AMAZING! This Summer has been so eventful because I got to experience new things, even if they weren't so exciting. I'm glad I came out of my shell, because I wouldn't have met so many cool people.

- Camped at Kern river and hung out with the boys. Slept on a nice air bed near a soothing stream thanks to Hosun.

- Road trip to San Diego, went to Pride parade, and got a really bad t-shirt tan.
- Did A LOT of drinking.

- Clubbed for the first time as 21 years old, it's so much more better than clubbing under age.
- Fished and caught stuff

- Fed and pet my new favorite animal, the Alpaca.
- Met a really swell guy.

- Worked for rent and my Macbook, but it kept me occupied. It made me look forward to my weekends.
- Hookah'd a lot.
- Was blessed by some strong kids at No Worries Now Prom.
- Mellie comes back from Leeds <3

- Competitive Beer Pong with friends
- Saw Dumbfoundead live at a lame Korean BBQ festival, but he was really good!
- Help my brother paint his new home.

- I fucking love the Habit!!!!!
- Watched the fireworks, Drake Bell perform, and the power rangers with my girl Ashlee at the Rose bowl.
